Network/Technical Support Openings   Position: Systems Engineer Job ID Number: 9507MK Date Posted: February 29, 2008 Location: Farmington Hills, MI Position Type: Contract Contract Length: 6 Months Experienced Systems Engineer to join our client?s Server Operation team in maintaining optimal performance measures for a 70+ server, HP-based Windows environment Our client is a global conglomerate providing telecommunications services to customers in 19 countries.  Their annual revenues have skyrocketed to over half a billion dollars, with annual double-digit growth year after year, and today they reign as the world?s largest direct selling telecommunications service provider. -- Act as technical resource for all Windows OS related projects -- Responsible for the testing and deployment of software packages on Windows 2000/2003 servers -- Responsible for AD domain architecture, HP Server, SAN/NAS, and Backup environment -- Altiris Deployment support within the company?s network environment. -- Serve as a resource for the desktop/admin support team and assist in the implementation of Windows XP through Altiris Deployment for packaging and OS updates -- Responsible for company-wide monitoring and auditing of software packages and hardware inventory. -- Responsible for support of Exchange corporate E-mail system, Symantec Enterprise Vault Archive. -- Responsible for support of MS Terminal Servers/VPN. -- Responsible for support of MS Sharepoint collaboration system. -- Will act as technical lead on large corporate projects. -- Establishes service level agreements for the maintenance of Windows server hardware and the operating systems. -- Maintain and improve all current processing functions. -- Work with IT department manager and user management to understand business needs and propose technology solutions. The right candidate must have 6+ years experience as a Systems Engineer.  Must have experience with SharePoint, Enterprise Vault (KVS), SAN/NAS experience, Active Directory, and VMware.  Microsoft OS and Exchange experience is also required.  MCSE is highly preferred for this opportunity.
